THE ASK
20th Century Fox tasked Works ADV with developing OOH wild postings for the coming-of-age (and coming out) film Love, Simon. Works brought me in to help craft messaging and copy aimed at specific states and cities.
THE WORK
I wrote tons (and I mean tons) of billboards that were strategically placed across the country, calling out various cities with the goal of making a personal connection with the movie premise that literally hit close to home.
This was a lot of fun and also extremely challenging. As you can imagine, some cities just don’t have a lot of gay landmarks or verbiage to grasp onto.
I also wrote the social companion pieces to the outdoor series — only this time, instead of cities, the pieces focused on states as a whole.
THE RESULTS
I couldn’t be happier with the way this one came out, as it ended up winning a Golden Trailer Award for best Outdoor Campaign.
